Frame Recognition with iSRP

I'm relatively new to the forum but from looking to the archives it appears that frame recognition with slide scanning is a recurring issue which has not or only partially been solved. So here comes my question: Why don't you simply use iSRP (on the devices that support it) for this purpose? It would seem that it should be quite easy to implement. And it would prevent the ugly edge artefacts that iSRP generates when including parts of the slide frame in the scan.

Dear Beat.

Thank you very much for your proposal.
The problem might be that the edges of the film holder are mostly unsharp, which makes it difficult to estimate the real position of the image. Maybe a constant inset value would be enough.
Anyway we will have a look.
