Digital ICE explanations?

I have the Official Guide and whatever else came with Silverfast for the Nikkon 5000 ED film scanner.

I cannot find anything on Digital ice. i see the icon to the left of the previewed image. But I haven't a clue what those different versions mean that the icon turns into when one clicks on it.

In general, after years, i find the instructions for Silverfast misrable and not worthy of this quality product. And I have lots of AIs, and more Silverfast aps for a decade now.

Anyone able to tell me where to find complete instructions on Digital Ice and the rest of the stuff for the Nikon film scanner? And not those tedious Quicktime films that make we wade through everything else to find the one thing i am searching for, and often not find it.

Thanks,

Mark B Anstendig

Dear Mark

grey: ICE off (necessary for Kodakchromes and B/W film)
standard: ICE on
ICE on with little "V" marker: even more aggressive reduction of image defects

See an example here:

A revised edition of the SilverFast Manual (english version) is already on its way...

Sonny,

Thanks a lot for the fast reply.

If there are more complete manuals in German, please tell me where.

I lived in Germany during the 60s and speak the language.

Thanks,

Mark
