My problem is that I upgraded from AI to AI Studio 2 days ago; the main reason was the possibilty of multiple scans of a dia even if the scanner doesn't support this to reduce faulty pixels in the scan.
Now the interresting thing is that in this new release the scratches and noise reduction tool lacks the option of reduction of horizontal and vertical scratches.

Is there any reason for this?

My scanner: Plustek Optic Film

We have eliminated the horizontal and vertical scratch removal in the newer versions of the Plustek plugin and will do this for other scanners too.

We think that the normal SRD (smart removal of defects) does the same job and there was no need for this extra option.

I wonder if I an the only one who needs the horizontal scratch removal...

This option worked fine for me and I cannot reach the same effects with the normal function of dust and scratch...

Furthermore the removal of this option was mentioned nowhere when I decided to upgrade from SilverFast AI to AI Studio.

For me it now seems that I lost an important feature and bought some new features which are useful, too. But I cannot remove the horizontal scratches from my negatives any more as I used to do.

Is there a possibility to reactivate this feature - or to use 2 parallel versions of Silver Fast AI?

Another option maybe is the combination of AI and HDR!?

I NEED THE SCRATCH REMOVAL!!!!!!!

The reactivated longish scratch removal is available in version 642 which will be available soon.
