SilverFast 6 + Nikon LS2000 + Windows 2003 Server = SHUTDOWN

Postby cyro » Wed Feb 02, 2005 6:33 am

Hi,

I am a new user to SilverFast 6, having previously used various 4.x versions. I like, love it but I have this strange problem:

When I batchscan or do multiple single scans in a row the SF launcher either dumps or Windows 2003 Server suddenly receives a shutdown signal and the system powers down.
It's fairly repeatable at this point, I get max. 3 - 5 batchscans in before a crash or a shutdown.

HW:
- Scanner = Nikon LS-2000 with SF200 slide feeder
- SCSI adapter = SIIG AP-10 SCSI Pro PCI
- PC = Dell PowerEdge 400SC, mostly stock

SW:
- Silverfast 6.4.1r2 (also tried r1)
- OS = Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition
- hardly anything else running (I disabled it and/or unloaded everything else)

Any idea what's going wrong? The SCSI card works A-OK with the scanner and other software (the orig. Nikon software for example) or external drives.

Thanks,
-CyRo :(

Dear CyRo

you might to experiment with different ASPI layer drivers.
However, please note that SilverFast isn't tested with Windows 2003 Server, yet.

Kind regards
