LaserSoft Imaging

I have an Epson 4870 Photo that came with Silverfast SE v6.1.0r5 that works in stand alone and twain. I'm running XP Pro SP2, Photoshop CS. When I update to SE v6.4.0r9c I have to install using compatibility mode Win98 for the stand alone to work. However, the twain will not work no matter how I install it. When I try to run it in PS the dialogue starts to open then it completely shuts down PS.
I need help!

Well I finally solved the problem. It was a hardware conflict with a Dlink USB web cam. Unplugged it and everything works just fine...finally!
