I get an error message saying it cannot calibrate scanner, what does that mean?
I have installed all the new software and drivers as told, but it will still not scan.
any ideas?

Don't know what scanner you are using, but that message usually means that the scanners internal calibration routine did not complete with success. If it is a flat bed you may have dust or somethiing in the calibration area, just under the cover at the top start point of the scan. If it is a film scanner, the same thing or a hardware fault - like lamp light too dim or off. or film in the scanner ;-) If you want more detailed help you will need to post exactly what you did, what scanner, etc. It is tough to troubleshoot with out much information.
