I have read several tutorials on how to scan negatives and I believe I have followed the directions precisely. However, when I try to scan negatives all I get is a multi-colored, pixelated background with a frame where an image presumably ought to be. No matter what I do, no image appears.
What am I doing wrong? I have a Microtec ScanMaker 8700 and bring the images into Photoshop CS on an iMac with OS X 10.3.
I am having great success using SilverFast to scan slides and prints.
Thanks. Mardi
