Clipped highlights

Hello!

Using the SE version of SF6 (latest iterations) on both Epson 2450 and Nikon LS-2000, I cannot figure out how not to clip the highlights. The problem is mostly with scans from color negs. When this happens I am forced to use v**s**n, which does not have a profile for the film type I use, but does allow me to set the white point at 0 which avoids clipping. How do I set SF to do the same?

Hello

This problem seems to be with the tolerance value for the orangemask. This is for the more accurate orangemask calculation with scanners, cause the noise of them.
You could change the tolerance only in SilverFast Ai (also many other expert setting for Negafix). Please try our demo version (Ai demo).

kind regards,

Hi!

Ja, ich verstehe schon! You now want me to spend about $600 US in order to get basic functionality I should already have! Why not FIX the code? If Ed Hamrick can do it for the same price as SF SE, and support both of my scanners for one price, along with dozens of others, and RAW files from digicams as well, you should be able to do it too!

When your software works, it does so very well, but there are simply too many problems given its cost. I will not be throwing good money after bad.
