We installed SilverFast Ai 6 on a Mac G3 using OS 9.0.4 for use with a Microtek ScanMaker 8700. First we installed the scantool as a plugin in Photoshop 4.0.1 (Dutch version).
All is working but no icon is shown in the Toolbar, the Overview Panel and the ScanPilot. Also the texts "inch", "lpi" and "dpi" in the Frame tab are missing.
We then installed the standalone version (SF_App) and here all icons and texts are shown correctly.
We now have to scan with the standalone program, save each file on disk and reopen them in Photoshop to see the quality and all.
Has this something to do with the fact that we use a Dutch version of Photoshop?

Hi there!

The problem has something to do with the interface change between the Photoshop versions! I think Silverfast from version 5 upwards need at least Photoshop version 5.5 to be functional.

hope this helps
Wolfgang

Dear all.

I?m still using PhotoShop v4 sometimes and having no problems.

However, the problem could be caused by the appearance manager, which came with your system. I?m using OS 9.1. Could you upgrade to OS 9.1 ?

Eric.

This could be a conflict with a Kodak Photo-CD plugin, which is being installed with Photoshop. Please look through your plugin- folders and remove. Silverfast will then work properly.
