I just installed SilverFast SE 5 that came with my Epson 2450 scanner. My question is this:

Is there any way to have the pictures when I scan the negative, show up in their own frames numbered? If so is there any way to pic 2 and 4 to be scanned not all 5 pics on the film? I have read the manual and I cannot find any option for this. I also reference the tutorial here:

http://www.computer-darkroom.com/sf5-ne ... egafix.htm

My film, when scanned, looks like one long picture with 4 smaller pictures insead of frames like it does in the 5.5 version and the Epson Twain scan. I have SilverFast installed in Photoshop 6.01 as a plugin. Do I need to upgrade to the AI version?

Thanks!

You can open multiple frames and scan them in batch mode (either to host application or file). In your case, I would:

1. resize the current frame to match the first image you want to scan (one of the 4-6 pictures on your film).
2. open a new frame by clicking and tracking the mouse over the next image you want to scan. Repeat #2 for all images you want to scan.
3. Change the scan mode to batch or batch file.
4. Scan.

I hope that helps.

Uuups, I just realized, that you are using the SE version  . The SE version doesn?t support batch mode, which means, that if you want to use my proposal in my last post, you will have to upgrade to Ai.

Please try the free demo version before you purchase Ai.

That is what I was afraid of. So I have to upgrade to 5.5 for 20.00 then pay another upgrade for the AI... According to the documentation I read on this site you can't upgrade from the bundle SE version to AI. Grrrr

Thanks for your help.
