EpsonPerfectionV800 crashes after iSRD scan 60% 0f time

On Windows 7, with the latest Epson Driver version 3.9.3.2 for the Epson Perfection V800, while running Silverfast version 8.0.1v45 either in Pilot mode or not, the scanner crashes usually just after the infrared scan is completer. An Epson 'error' message shows up and the communication with the scanner is lost. Seems to be a bug. Any workaround? :(

Dear user,

Please install the latest update from our website.
Version 8.0 is very old.

Thanks, it's much better now, though it did crash once or twice over a couple days of scanning.

Dear JT,

Have you tried resetting SilverFast through the welcome screen's service dialog.
Maybe the update was not able to update all the settings.
In case you still have difficulties please contact us through the "Request online support" entry in the SilverFast Help menu.
