after Silverfast 8.8.0 update video gets stuck

Hello,

After update to 8.8.0 Silverfast is not opening correctly. It gets stuck on the video popup window.

I already changed Safari as default, no avail (I saw this advice somewhere). Under the Help dropdown menu "Request online support" greyed out.
Specs:
Silverfast SE Plus 8.8.0r7
Licence # : 22224-44H63-XZSXX-7AKS3-A2JDZ-J5ZSE
Mac OS X 10.12.2
Epson Perfection V850 USB (GT-X980)
Pls help me out.

Hitting the Esc-key will close the movie screen.

I will give it a try.

Will that disable the movie for good? The primary user will not be happy, if she has continuously hit esc when opening the software.

Yes, if you are using the latest update it should not come up again.
