Updates for Silverfast budled with Scanner

I'm new to scanning. I'm planning to purchase a scanner that comes with SilverFast version 8, although I do not know the minor version of the software that is bundled (8.0, 8.1 etc). Once I have purchased the scanner, will I be able to update the software to version 8.8 for free, or will I have to pay an upgrade fee? Unfortunately I cannot tell from the update page since one has to enter a SilverFast serial number to see what free updates are available, and of course I do not have a serial number yet.

Updates within version 8 a free. If you purchase a SilverFast 8 license yo can update to the current version 8.8.
