I'm running Silverfast SE plus 8.8.0r6 with the Epson v850 scanner on Mac OS 10.12.1. I am only getting 8bit files regardless of what bit depth I choose. Even in 48 Bit HDR RAW. Everything defaults to 8bit.

Dear user,

Which tool do you use to check this? The 48 Bit HDR RAW format is using 16 Bit per channel.
The standard 48->24 Bit selection creates a 8Bit per channel image.
