supported models

I'm a bit confused about why one must order Silverfast Ai by scanner model. If I'm using two different "supported" scanner models will I have to purchase two different model type versions of the software? Will I have to download separate drivers? Are the drivers for all supported models not included when you purchase the product? How does this work?

First of all, you need to purchase a version for each scanner. This is due to the fact that every scanner is different (to a certain extent) and needs some specific work to be supported. But please contact our sales department sales@silverfast.de if you intend to buy two versions of SilverFast.

Secondly, each installer is specific to a certain scanner class. Depending on how similar your scanners are, the installers might be exactly the same and, therefore, install identical drivers, or be just completely different!

But be aware that some installers do not install the drivers. Thus, one needs to install the original software of the scanner manufacturer to get the drivers.
