I have a Umax Astra 4000U w/Trans adapter I've been in touch with Umax and they are not currently developing any drivers for their consumer model scanners that support OS X, I know that there are some scanners that SilverFast 6 support in Jaguar, unfortunately the Umax Astra 4000U is not one of them, I was wondering if there are plans underway by LaserSoft to develope these drivers for the 4000U?
Currently the only thing I need to use OS 9.2 for is my 4000U,
I would like to change this, Am I being too hopeful or should I go out & purchase another scanner & if so can I trade in my SF6-Umax for SF6 compatible with which ever scanner I purchase?
Any info would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance, Sincerely, ProImage

Silverfast will have to answer your question about trading versions (don't see why they wouldn't). If you do decide a new scanner is necessary, I recommend the Epson 2450, which is fast, scans at up to 2400 dpi, 48 bit color, has 3.3 DMax, negative and transparency adapters, for $399. I hear actually that Epson is discontinuing this model in favor of the 2400 which lacks the transparency adapter, though it has the adapter for negatives. Right now I'm scanning with it into Jaguar/Photoshop 7 using the Epson Twain module, available at the Epson developers' website, until I'm able to update to a correct version of Silverfast Ai 6.
