Using Silverfast to scan movies

Hi there everyone,
I am a cinematography student studying at San Francisco at moment. We still shoot a lot of work on film, which I love. But there are 2 problems. We have a telecine machine, but it only does SD. And for the external ones it is charging an arm and a leg.
So I was considering modifying one of my Plustek holders to allow to feed through images to scan. I would be using a plastic 8200, and motorized reel on one side, and a normal editing crank reel on the other. My goal is to create a system that can be automated, and scan TIF/RAW of each frame (even if just lower resolution) and later make them into a sequence.
I do use v**s**n for some scan already but they do not have a way to automate the scan, does Silverfast have this feature, and if so, what is the best way to go about this?
Best regards
Carl
