LaserSoft Imaging

I currently use SilverFast SE Plus 8 with a Plustek Optic Film scanner. However, a few days ago the buttons at the special tools pannel ( pipet, USM, iSRD, AACO and GANE) started appearing inactive and I cannot switch them on. Also, in the menu of the file type to store the image, the option JEPG has disappeared. What can I do to re-establish the use of those parameters?

Dear Mr Moreno,

Please check the output bit depth.
You probably have selected one of the 48/64 Bit HDR(i) RAW Formats. These are saved unchanged for later processing in our SilverFast HDR (Studio) Software. Therefor all image altering tools are deactivated when selecting one of these formats.

Thanks for your answer, Arne. Actually I try to scan colour slides to a file and I use 48 or 64 Bit HDR (16 and 32 Bit HDR, the two other options of the menu, give grey images). In these conditions and no matter the optical resolution that I select (1800, 3600 or 7200 dpi) the format file menu does not allow me any longer to save the image as JEPG file (as it used to do), just as TIFF, PSD or JP2. I have tried to save in the TIFF format, but in any of the above conditions the AACO, GANE, USM or iSRD buttons appear inactive and cannot be switched on. I have re-installed the SilverFast application, but the problem remains. Could this anomaly be due to a problem with the SilverFast 8 SE Plus or with the scanner software (Plustek Optic Film 8200i Ai or SE)?

Dear Mr Moreno,

JPG files can only accept 24 bit data. This filetype isnot available for 48 or 64 bit scanning.
You will have to switch to 48->24 Bit if you want to save JPGs.

Additionally The HDR(i) formats are raw archive formats for later processing in SilverFast HDR (Studio). All image altering functions are deactivated for these files.
