Whats the timeline for getting things to work in X.2? Jaguar has been out for a while now and it wasn't a secret, while it was being developed. I have a scanmaker 4 and I cant even use Silverfast 6 in classic, I have to reboot into OS 9. I was told it would take a couple of weeks to get these issues resolved . . . and its been a couple of weeks.

Give us a date that we can look forward to guys :)

thanks

RG

Hi rgerber!

I?m just a user too and no one of the support, but as far as i know and read in this forum until now, is this a matter of the scanner companys not a Silverfast delay. They need the native drivers for OS X from the scanner manufactors to adopt their software on that. Maybe in the case of your scanner it?s not yet finished an will take a little time.....
Same here for Epson over USB and Nikon LS30 (SCSI), where the scanner manufactors seem to have problems.

Wolfgang

thanks for your reply wolke,

but that seems hard to believe since there hasn't been an os x native driver made available for my scanner (by Mikrotek) and silverfast 5.5 worked fine in OS X.1

its just frustrating too have payed around $400 for the IT8 package, not too mention the recent $65 upgrade price and have software that no longer works in the current OS. Ultimately, my time is more vauable than the scanner or the software, and it seems ridiculously squandered looking for a solution to something that was already working.

but enough ranting :) Thanks.

Hmm it?s kinda funny

We?re all hunting the latest updates for beeing up to date but there are more disadvantages comparing to OS 9.x than ever before.
I.e. my monitor calibrating tool doesn?t work in OS X, i haven?t found a affordable RIP for my Epson photo 2000p yet, my machine seem to be twice as slow as in OS 9.x, i putted 1Gb of RAM in it bought a new bigger drive wich all makes still no difference and last but not least both of my scanners are not (yet) supported in OS X!

So what!?
I can only do one thing at a time and so i stay on a fast, stable, aprooved, compatible OS 9.x instead of waiting and spending useless hours in a multithreaded mistake! (oh yes, i hatet Next/OpenStep too, our company had once a Digiscript program on this system)

Enaugh flame, just wanted to say that i only use X on a different partition for collecting experiances and see what?s to come......

friendly regards
and be patient a little, like we all have to
