Printer Calibration

I am very interested in an upgrade to take advantage of the new Printer Calibration feature. I currently have Silverfast SE 8, an Epson Stylus Pro 3800 printer, driver version 9.33, and an Epson Perfection V700 Photo scanner. I use a Mac OS X 10.10.

Will this printer and scanner work for Printer Calibration?

Does the scanner get calibrated, too?

I find the web site very confusing. Which software should I upgrade to? Will I need to also purchase an IT8 target?

Dear customer,

The scanner first must be calibrated using the IT8 calibration included in SilverFast Ai Studio.
This requires a calibration target (which is also available from our shop.)

The printer calibration can then be used to calibrated using the printer calibration.

Your scanner is very well suited for the calibration process.

For the printer it is important, that the color management can be disabled.
Please consult your printer's manual or the EPSON tech support if you wan to be sure.
But I would be surprised if there would be any difficulties with a device from the Stylus Pro series.
However I unfortunately do not have this printer available to check this directly.

Kind regards,
