I would be interested to here when LaserSoft propose to offer OSX 10.2.x support for the Polaroid range of scanners and HDR . A new update was posted last week r18, which is still only compatible with 10.1.x. In fact it will not even install on a 10.2.x box - error mesage about 8092 of physical memory not available you can not install - I have 2GB of REAL memory available and an oversized paperweight - meaning I cannot use my scanner!

The download page also implies that a new version of HDR has been uploaded (i.e. r10 24/9) It is NOT new just the date stamp has changed. I get the same error message as above but the app does install.

Frankly, I see little point in uploading a version of Ai for OSX that doesn't work with the current version.

I had no problems with the install of the newest version for the SprintScan 120 on OS 10.21. I only did a couple of quick scans, but all the basic functions(I did not use GAIN, etc) worked.

Hi!

I've got a UMAX PowerLook Scanner on an ATTO UW-SCSI card. Since installing OSX Jaguar, my G4 doesn't find the scanner at all.

I've got the free Silverfast SE software ... can anyone help me please. I really need to scan a few things quickly.

Since my initial post in this thread I ahve continued to expereince install failures on EVERY new release of SilverFast 6. However, the problem also effects EVERY new release of an application based upon the Aladdin Stuffit 7.1.1 installer (LaserSoft use this installer).

I contacted Aladdin Developer support but they were unaware of the problem. In this case the problem does NOT lie with Lasersoft and since I appeared to be the only person reporting any issue on this site it appeared unique to my setup - a new dual 1.25 G4 PwerMac with 2gig of ram.

Today I began to see others reporting the same problem, but this time on Apples own suport forum for the new G4's. It turns out that the issue is having the full compliment of 2gig of ram installed. Remove a stick of ram (any stick will do) and the installers are happy. This seems to have been the cure for these folk and when I tested it they appear to be correct. However, removing ram to install an application is INSANE. The workaround I have used for this past 2weeks is simply to boot into OS9.2.2 and install from there. There are other workarounds but I don't have time to repeat them here.

Wow, that IS crazy. i've been having problems installing Silverfast 6 on my G4 (maxed out RAM). I'll try your advice and install it in 0S9. What a crazy thing, thanks for posting your info here!
