Win 7 64 /silverfast v8.1 r38 / epson v750
Hi Guys. A newbe here so forgive me if this is a bit obvious! I have searched the help/forums and couldnt find an answer. I want to set a Global default of scan folder as destination and always jpeg as file format. (In my case file path is K:\scan and always jpeg max quality) I have set these in scan dimensions but cannot get them to stick. I have saved settings as a job but it is constantly changing back to the defaults of tiff and my pictures folder. When I batch scan some frames keep defaulting to tiff while others are jpeg.
What I want to do is set the preference to ALWAYS save as jpeg max in the scan folder - no matter what type of scan I do - negative, print or batch. And preferably to just filename as img1/img2 etc. (This is simple in epson scan which I have resorted to for a rush job!)
I must be missing something but I am going nuts!
Thanks in advance, N

Dear Nigel,

please make your settings and click on "frame"->"Settings"->"Save Frame Settings" and give it a name.
Then go to the preferences and choose in the "General" tab your new setting at "Default Setting"

We are evaluating X-ray 8 using the demo version. How do we change and set the default file format from DCOM to JPG ?

Cheers,

Dear Geoff,

In the X-Ray Pilot this has to be changed manually.
For standard scan mode you can make settings (including file type and others) and save them as a "Frame setting" in the Frame menu.
After that you can select that saved setting to be used as the "default setting" in the Preferences' General tab.

Kind regards,
Arne
