I am scanning photographs using the following specifications:
SilverFast SE Plus + Epson Perfection V750 Pro scanner
Software settings:
Reflective
Positive
48->24 bit
PSD format
1200 dpi
When I open my images in Photoshop, they open as 8 bit files.
Does this mean my scanned image files are actually 8 bits, or is Photoshop incorrectly reading my files?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Scanning 48->24 bit but file opens in Photoshop as 8 bit
Dear customer,
This is correct.
Photoshop states the bit-depth per RGB channel (3 x 8 = 24)
SilverFast shows the combined bit depth.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
