Importing scans into Photoshop Elements Mac running Lion 10.

I was of the impression that if I imported the Canon 9000f via Photoshop Elements, the image would load directly into PE. When I toggle back to PE after completing 4 35mm batch scans, PE just freezes with the coloured wheel spinning. I have to then Force Quit PE restart and open images in my assigned folder.

Is the latter to correct procedure?

Very impressed by Silverfast SE and the Canon 9000f! Brilliant!
