64 bit HDRi processing in HDR 8

Postby mezzeta » Sun Nov 18, 2012 6:13 pm

I would appreciate knowing how to process 64 bit HDRi images scanned in with Silverfast 8 then processed in Silverfast HDR 8.

When scanning the 35mm film negative, it is set as a transparency, negative, negafix set to fuji pro 400H, scanner Epson V500
and scanned as 64bit HDRi . Image is scanned and can see the infrared scan occur and finishes successfully. I then switch to
Silverfast HDR 8, configure as film transparency, negative, 64bit HDRi at 6400ppi with negafix set to fuji pro 400H, scanner Epson V500.

While in HDR 8, the image on the screen is shown as normal image, but when processed the image show in all orange tones instead of normal image.
I've tried turning the Gamma on and off and setting to 1 instead of 2.20 without any change.

If I process at 24 or 48 bit ( no infrared ) image then is processed correctly but no iSRD is provided.

I'm running the most current version that I'm aware of SF 8.0.1r17 and HDR 8 - 8.01r17 as well.

I've searched this forum but unable to find what is wrong.

Help would be appreciated.

Dear mezzeta,

it is necessary to change the output format in HDR from 64bit HDRi to 48bit color. You will get a positive image.

Best regards
