Hello,
I note that AI is now available for the Astra 2100U. Since SE appears to be a cut down version, is it reasonable to assume that it will become available soon?
Also (silly question, I suppose) if you have the product for one type of scanner do you need to pay again for a different type of scanner?
Best regards,
Brian Williams
When will SE be available for the 2100U ?

Ok.... so what ARE the management decisssssions?
If there isn't conditional code to make AI into SE, someone made a sever error of judgement....

Dear Brian,
the management decissions are this:
for some scanner models we will offer SilverFast as SE software.
and
for other scanner models we DON'T offer SilverFast as SE software.
How to judge what scanners have NO SilverFast SE possibility?
go to SilverFast download... download for SE.
If your scanner model is NOT listed, no SE software for this scanner exists.

SE Vs AI one more time
I was actually hoping for an explanation about what factors management took into account before releasing an AI version for a given scanner. I already knew how to find out if there was one, otherwise I would not have posed the question...
It seems that 'someone' decided that there was a market for cheap software for a cheap scanner, but that there was unlikely to be a market for a higher priced AI version.
My point is, why not survey that segment? You are a web-based company, get the users to vote on whether they would want an AI version and how much they would pay for it. You want to make money, don't you?
Regards
Brian

supported list
If the Se is available for the 2100U, why isn't the 2100U on the list of supported scanners?
