Scanner support for Astra 5450[b]

Can anyone tell me whether any of the drivers are compatible with the Umax Astra 5450 scanner. I believe that drivers for the Astra 3400, 3420 and 5400 may also work but none are listed here either. [/b]

The Astra 5450 is actually a 5400 with an installed transparency unit. The version for the 5400 should work. Please try the free demo version before purchasing.

But the 5400 driver is not listed in the Silverfast demo area for Umax, so where do I find it?

Oh sorry , I see the problem now. I was thinking of the Astra 6400/6450.

Well, of course you could try the free demo for the 6400/6450, but the full version will not be able to be serialized, since the 5450 ist not in the list of supported scanners.
We have two scanners of that type in our office and we will try to test SilverFast next week. I?ll keep you posted.

sorry, but we'll have no version for the 5450 within the next month.
The scanner behaviour is complete different than expected.
But we don't give up.

Hi,

Did you have any luck in getting the Umax 5450 to work with Silverfast? I've now got an intel Mac so the old Vista scan software won't work on my machine but I would like to keep the Unax as the scans are good.
If you have not got a compatible version are you likely to support the Epson Perfection 3590 Photo as I may have to purchase a new scanner.
