OCR scanning using SilverFast AI 6 on a UMAX Powerlook 1100

Postby mikadvertising » Tue Aug 29, 2006 11:48 pm

Does anyone know if there's a way to scan OCR using SilverFast AI ver. 6xx on a UMAX Powerlook 1100. The SF software was originally purchased directly from LaserSoft and not bundled with the scanner. There is no UMAX software installed on my machine - Powermac G4 running OS 10.3.9.

Any suggestions/comments/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, J. :D

If the SilverFast version you have is licensed for your scanner then you should be able to download the TWAIN version Vs the Photoshop Plug-in for use with an OCR application.

I have a copy of Silverfast 6.6 for Mac (using a Umax Powerlook 1100 scanner) and need to do some OCR scanning, I note your comment re download TWAIN version Vs the Photoshop Plug in, please let me know how to do this. I have Photoshop CS4 for Mac. Many thanks.
