my scanner does'nt work every time
i'm forced to reinstal dirver and program silverfast for every time i need to scan .. why??? what can i do to fix that problem?? i have a UMAX POWERLOOK 180 and windows xp home edition. thanx for future response.
Sounds like Win is not finding the scanner until you run the install.
Could be : install did not work fully - look at device manager for any issues for the scanner driver
Could be: bad hardware on USB port (assuming USB) - try a different port (do not use a hub or other devices with a scanner - single connection to eliminate other issues)
Could be : corrupted registry - run utility like Norton Systemworks to chk
Could be : disk is having problems - run chkdisk
Could be : driver conflict - try installing on a clean xp install with nothing else added.
