how to fix white lines in scan

I've noticed several posts regarding people getting lines in scans. I've also noticed people saying that Silverfast's Auto-sharpen is enabled by default in the newer releases. There is a connection between the two.

Turn off Sharpening in Silverfast, and see if you still get these thin lines. I imagine you won't. I had the same problem back in 5.0, and this was my fix.

Thanks I'll try that out.

But why diddn't I get this easy solution to the problem from the SF staff when I wrote a detailed E-mail with example Jpeg's over one and a half months ago.
