dear sir,
am occasionally having some problems with having quite a thick layer of fog after scanning positive film.
i can use auto levels to eliminate it but some dark areas would gets white washed out, the huge contrast would take away the shadow information.
with neg film is better cause after auto levels the contrst is not so strong as positive film.
i am using ls2000 scanner, pls advise on this matter.
much appreciated,
rgds,
loyal silverfast user
how to clear layer of fog after scanning positive?

In order to see and say what is going on, I would suggest that you submit the following:
1. Your result with the "fog" (scan saved as JPEG)
2. Same scan as 48 bit raw data (TiFF 3-4 MB)
3. Your SilverFast LogFile (where the SF Plug-in is)
4. Your SilverFast Settings file (Export from inside the "Export"-dialog)
With that we can quickly evaluate what is wrong and how to get maximum quality. Please submit data to support@silverfast.de.
