How do I scan slides

Postby jonespm » Sat Mar 11, 2017 6:09 am

Hi,
I've bought an Epson V800 scanner which has a slide holder and came with SilverFast SE 8. I'm trying to scan slides but I'm have no luck. Can you point me to a tutorial? With the Epson scan software which also came with the scanner I was up and going without any problems - in full auto mode all it took was a couple of clicks! I would just like to get an output from SilverFast so I choose between it and the Epson scan software.

I've tried to find movie tutorials but they all seem to be for different versions of the software than the one I have. I can see that batch processing is involved but I'm not even sure my version supports that.

Cheers, Peter

Dear Peter,

First make sure SilverFast is set to transparency and positive.
Then the first step is to use the find frames option from the frames menu.
You can the set up one of the frames with the options and tools you need.
Each scan frame has it's own settings.
You can copy settings from the active frame to all others using the option from the Frame menu.
Afterwards further individual settings are possible.
To scan all the frames in batch mode click and hold the scan button for a second. You can then switch to batch mode.

Kind regards,
Arne
