Thank You. Just returned from a photo shoot in Dallas and had to scan 47 transparencies before FedExing later today. I was about 3 or 4 Silverfast updates back on my Macintosh/Nikon LS-2000 scanner, but this job was important enough for me to install the update to 5.52r2. I gathered my calibration t...

Oh my goodness. Somebody went to a lot of work to make the download/update area of this site harder to use for this old time Silverfast user. I have three versions of Silverfast and used to be able to go to one page to check for and download updates... Now I have to manuver through about 12 pages ju...

Well I guess I'll be using my Kodak targets for a while longer. The number to call to find a "Dealer Near You" that handles the IT-8 targets is 800.359.3854 Fuji IT-8 targets are shot on Provia. A 35mm target costs $500. It comes with a floppy disk containing the data file specific to that individua...

The majority of my shooting is done on Fuji Astia color transparency. I will be calling Fuji Graphic Services today about getting a 35mm IT-8 for my Nikon LS-2000 scanner. I've been using 2 Kodak IT-8's and a CROES IT-8, but I'd feel most comfortable with a matched emulsion. *** Where are the Fuji I...

The problem you are experiencing is a common one for those new to IT-8 calibration. The short answer: Your selection is too large. Check carefully the area that Silverfast suggests you select... and then make your selection a tad tighter. The edge of youe selection must reside within the swatches......

1. Silverfast is the software you will use to get the best scans out of your new scanner and system. 2. MonacoEZ Color is great for profiling your printer and then tweaking those printer profiles to your personal taste. I have used both products for years, but I am not familiar with what comes with ...

Oh my gosh... You sure have picked a great project to start learning Silverfast. From your message these "dark images" were underexposed when your flash didn't go off and they are "reddish" because the existing tungsten light started to take over. The scan being darker than origianal can be caused b...

Dear Greg, First off, rest assured that Silverfast is the best scanning software available for your images. From your post, I can see that you have not yet read your documentation, or set up/configured Silverfast to work with your scanner and Photoshop. You are acting just like the rest of us who pu...

Dear Ian Lyons, Macintosh Users and Silverfast Support Type People, Just installed Silverfast 5.51r3 on two Macintosh computers. Thanks Andreas... I forgot to mention that I am on a Macintosh. The Silverfast Installer/Updater Macintosh version is the one that deletes all of you serial, upgrade, preferences, and custom settings each time you run the installer/updater... Have any Macintosh users installed a 5.5.1 Silverfast yet...
