Platform Upgrades
I am currently using the 6.5 Ai upgrade on Windows 2000. Now that Lightroom has come out, I notice it only supports XP. Where on Lasersoft's site do I find what a OS switch would cost.

I would agree on the asap aspect. I suppose one would have to have a unit and the unit spec in terms of how it's been programmed. But you folks have been at this long enough to know that Minolta generally ignores its customers at least at the service level, so advice or pleading coming from anxious ...

New Minolta Scanner need Silverfast
Just thought I would put out a notice that Konica Minolta has come out with version two of the Dimage Scan Elite 5400 called the 5400 II. This seems to have everything except Scanhancer and will certainly need a version of Silverfast....fast. Looks like it should be shiiping this month yet for U.S. ...

Yes, I'm well aware of some of the problems folks are having scanning Kodachromes...and I have my share of old Europe trips slides from that era (early 70's). I think I'll work with the scenario I've described for the moment. Most of my stuff is architectural photography...exteriors of buildings I d...

Yes, it's a long sorting out process...however, I still think one should use Kodak targets for their emulsions and Fuji targets for their film particularly since Velvia is so tough get good exposure with in high contrast shots anyway. No one has convinced me yet that I can get by with Getag Macbeth ...

This implies that there are a number of files for the same target type (say transmissive) film emulsion (say Ektachromes) differing by dates and reference data. Let's say for the Minolta Scanner I will use (Elite 5400), I want to calibrate for Fuji Velvia/Provia/Astia and I order the Studio version ...

Reference Files/Targets Included with Ai6 & Studio
I've looked through the product area and don't find information stating whether or not the standard It/8 Kodak target (for 35mm) included with Silverfast 6 Ai or the Studio version is a reflective target or a transmissive target or both. Nor, do I see whether or not the software/target reference fil...

Almost Automated Calibration
Sorry, I meant to use your language "almost fully automated".. Actually, I was just trying to get you to tell me what your optional or add on product was (still don't know) that you were referring to in a previous response. I did try and print all of your links. My motive in asking about the Fuji 35...

Where would I find information about the optional nearly fully automated IT8 calibration feature for Silverfast 6 that you mention?

Can anyone tell me when Fuji Provia, Velvia and or Astia transmissive 35mm targets will be available from Lasersoft?

Scanner Profiling with Silverfast
Can I profile the Minolta 5400 Scan Elite with Silverfast 6 and various transmissive targets as an alternative to using a program such as Gretag Macbeth Publisher or Monaco Profiler. I would prefer to not make that kind of investment. I perceive on various forums that Silverfast has this sort of cap...

Transmissive Targets
Has anyone tried the Wolf ***** Fuji targets with Ai 6? I am assuming those from Lasersoft may be a long time coming. This also raises the question for me in terms of the research for color management/calibration software. Looking through Gretag MacBeth products, Colorvision and Monaco products, the...

IT8 Targets/Slide Scanning
I am going to get the Minolta 5400 scanner and Silverfast 6 with all the other goodies B&H Photo offers. One disturbing issue is the unavailability of IT8 transmissive targets for Fuji films (Velvia. Provia and Astia). Where do I these such that they and the data files can be used with Silverfas...
