Hi,

I could need these Farbwelt-profiles, too, and was just wondering if they are available yet, and how to import them into silverfast (my installation of SF 5.5.2r17 does not include them yet).

Now I set up my machine completely from scratch with OS 9.2.2, did not install NikonScan at all, and it seems to work alright (except missing color profiles for the Nikon scanner, but I guess I can fix that).

Yes, I have NikonScan 3.1.2, but I installed Silverfast cleanly following your instructions (removed the Nion MAID preferences folder etc.), so there should be no conflict with the original software, I suppose?. With NikonScan these problems do not occur, by the way. However, I could try to set up t...

Hi, my SF 5.5.2 (from r02 to r17) permanently crashes when I scan negatives using the CleanImage feature. It works fine without this (regular scan), but with active dust/grain removal it crashes regardless of if a filter (USM etc.) is applied or not. Did anyone else experience this behaviour? I alwa...

Another issue in that respect:
is it generally more efficient to write to the support in the US or in Germany (and in this case, in German or English ?

The statements about the forum are definitely reasonable, but nevertheless getting any answer from SF tech-support concerning real problems (e.g., SF permanently crashing during negative scans - at least this seems like a problem to me) is somewhere between very unlikely and impossible - sorry to sa...

Kodak Farbwelt would be useful (though I personally hate it, but I have to scan it frequently (it's a popular consumer film)).
If I could finally get SF to work more or less stable with my Nikon LS 4000, I'd be happy to provide some data.

I have exactly the same problem. When I open SF_App, I am asked for the plug-in folder, but whatever folder I choose, the only option I get is 'Cancel', and the application quits.

I was just curious:
is HiRePP now available in 5.5.2 for Nikon or not? I guess it should be, according to the time frame announced in the forums, but I could find no hint in any readme, documentation etc.

I would really appreciate if you provided an updated version history (or list of recent changes) with each update - the details in the development history stop around 5.5.1r05, and I just downloaded 5.5.2r13 (Nikon/PS/Mac). It would be nice to know what improvements one can expect, since the risk of...

Automatic update notification sounds great!

The only problem I suffer from updating is that 3 out of 4 updates introduce new bugs to the old ones that have been resolved, requiring a complete clean reinstallation of an old version...

How can I efficiently adjust the film strip offset with the film strip holder of my Nikon LS4000 ? For me, it is impossible to make 'fine' adjustments (like less than 10% of the frame height (approx. 3 mm)) - either there is no effect at all, or the frame is offset at least twice as much as I intend...

Nikon scanners can't do ICE on B&W film because B&W film is opaque to the infrared light used by ICE to detect dust and scratches (the same applies to Ektachrome, I think).
