I am going through the same ordeal that you are. I am begining to believe that this software isn't tested with these scanners. You would think when these updates are released that the would test the scanners with the update rather than say they should work.

I have tried the last demo which I believe is 6.1.0r7 and it doesn't work.

I have a Umax 2400s and an Adaptec 2930 scsi card.I downloaded the Silverfast AI and it is still cannot find scanner. I have tried every scsi id and pci slot. The scanner is recognized in the system profiler. I hate to have to buy a new scanner but it looks like I may have to. Thanks cdssh

That is great that it works for you, but I have a Umax 2400s scanner,which happens to be scsi.

Is there going to be a version released soon that works for Umax scanners or is it a wash. If so can you give a date so I know if I should buy a new scanner that works with Panther.

The scanner shows up in the system profiler just fine. This card is runnig an internal harddrive and all is well. I believe the software just dont work with panther. I see that there is several other people having the same problem.

I have done a clean full install, moved the Adaptec 2930 pci card to all the different pci slots, tried all the scsi id's on the scanner. This will not work. I have a Umax 2400s scanner. Is there going to be an upgrade or am I screwed. I will prbably have to buy a new scanner as my wife is a graphic...

I think rkusa has a great idea! List just the scanners that have been tested and working.

Does anyone have their Umax scanner working in Panther? I have a 2400s that worked in Jaguar, but refuses to work with Panther. Maybe someone has some tricks to get it to work. Thanks cdssh
