Re: Silverfast 8 giving inferior shadow detail results to v6

Hi there Thanks for posting As you can see, scans #2 and #3 resolve far more detail in the tree branches and dark areas than #1. Scan #1 also has a green tint to the black areas which is difficult to remove without altering the color balance of the whole scan. This issue is far more complicated than...

Re: Scan Problem on positive dark film.

Hi there, all scanners produce some level of noise on dark areas, all of them to different levels but it is always present. For that we have created Multi-Exposure which will not only help reduce image noise produced on the dark areas, but also increase the dynamic range. You might want to activate ...

Re: Font size in UI too small

Hi there

dealio wrote:Anyone know if there is there any way to increase the size of the font used in the user interface for Silverfast AiStudio 8?

No, there is not a way to modify the size of the font in SilverFast. This has to be made by changing the appearance in the operating system.

Re: Different versions of SF on same computer

Hi there, Can you please confirm if I can go on and install SilverFast 8 on the same computer that has SilverFast 6 already installed, and be able to use both scanners? yes, it is possible to install SilverFast 8 on the same computer and operating system where SilverFast 6 is installed. Re: Strange artifacts in Plustek Opticfilm 7600i Silverfast

Hi there,

this artifacts are produced by the silver particles of the b&w film and the infrared light. Infrared correction should not be used on silver halogen b&w films, for that you should use a software based dust and scratch correction (SRD).

Re: iSRD scanned photo is poor quality compared with preview

Hi melbury How will I know when it is fixed? as I have thousands of negatives to scan and woudl like to do them in groups of 24 to save time. This forum thread is linked to the internal request. As soon as an update is available we will inform it here. I'm running on the trail version 8 (I have full...

Hi Peter, It is correct. The maker note is reserved to the manufacturer and it is not mandatory nor stipulated how this should be treated. Since this not a standard specification (because it is up to the manufacturer),the other application you are using returns the message mentioned above "Unre...

Re: HDR Studio 8.0.1r6

Hi Peter Different problem: any TIFF I generate with Silverfast HDR 8 Studio Beta from a Silverfast 8 Ai RAW TIFF source has corrupt Marker notes (see attached screen shot), preventing me from geo-tagging it. I have filled a report describing this. However I would like to provide more information to...

Re: HDR Studio 8.0.1r6

Hi iDollar There is still a problem with the image preview going blank when material type is set to negative until a process is applied where a 1:1 preview is generated (iSRD etc.). You can also press and hold the alt key, you will notice how the open button changes, using the button in this stage w...

Hi sinarleica

We will send this to the testing department , there we will try to reproduce this problem.
What size are the pictures you are working with, is this file size dependent?

Kind regards

Hi Melbury, I got access to your pictures, thanks. I tested this issue and could reproduce the problem as described. I have reported this for bugfixing. In the meantime I suggest you try to go 1:1 overview on each of the pictures before performing the batchscan. In that way corrections will be corre...

Re: Silverfast 8 / Nikon SF210 Feeders

Hi dickkaiser It would be much faster if once the scan of slide 1 is finished, the scan of slide 2 is started. The processing for slide 1 can continue while slide 2 is scanning. Is this planned? No, it is not planned. I have opened a feature request with your suggestion. Thanks for your contribution...
