Problem solved

I have solved the problem.

The problem was related to the Epson ?plastic? negative holder and not to the Silverfast software.

If the negative holder is kept absolutely flat during scanning (by force) then the ?shadow effects? disappears.

Do you want the Prefs folder including the files?

I?m using Windows XP PRO Service Pack 2.

And the setting used in the above scanning is:
48 Bit colour.
Filter: None
Image Type: Skin Tones
3200 dpi
Film Type and exposure:
Kodak/Gold/200-6
CCR on
Exposure: -2.4

You still have a long way to go before the multi exposure function works on the Epson 4870. The picture below is scan at 48 Bit 3200 DPI on an Epson 4870 using 4 x Multi exposure version: 6.5.0r3d.
