Try increasing the value in Option->Special->Lightness. This increase the exposure time of the scan. Occasionally I have the same problem with TriX 400 when they are not properly developed. And this is how I solved the problem. BTW, I have a Polaroid SS4000+ which is the same as Microtek 4000tf.

As a test, I did IT8 calibration first with r01 (which seems to be the last version that does IT8 correctly for my SS4000+ under Windows), then with r37. I then used Iphoto ICC Inspect to check the 2 profiles generated. Compare with the r01 profile, the r37 profile covers slightly more blue and red ...

Still IT8 calibration problem in Ai r37

Just tried Ai r37 today and I am still having problem with IT8 calibration. I removed the entire Silverfast directory before installing r37. And I followed the exact procedure (the newly updated version) described on Ian's website. The target I use is brand new just ordered from Wolf *****. The cali...

I just checked and the Limit Gamma Slope option is deactivated. If I activate it, then both patch GS20, GS21 and GS22 become black. The following two images are scans of an IT8 target, the first one with calibration on, the second one without calibration. The Limit Gamma Slope option is off for both...

IT8 calibration problem in Ai 6.0.2r31

It seems the IT8 calibration is changed significantly in version 6.0.2r31. While the procedure is simplified, I am having problem with colors, especially in shadow area. Before calibration, patch GS0 reads about 250, GS11 about 110, and GS23 about 22, as suggested in Ian's tutorial. After the calibr...

I have the same problem with the new HDR update. I uninstalled the old HDR and deleted the preference files before I did the install. Still I don't have the film list.

I just did a clean reinstall of SF plugin r28 and still no luck. I first uninstalled SF, deleted the entire SF folder and all the SF registry keys. Then I reinstalled SF and got the same result as before. Scanning in color stalls and b/w works. I would guess it's definitely not a Pref folder issue.

No problem scanning B/W

Just noticed that the problem goes away when scanning B/W negatives. But it remains when scanning in color. The color scans use Adobe 1998 profile while B/W ones use Gray 2.2, does this matter?

Thanks for the fix. I tried it but no luck. Still need to press cancel to get the scan into Photoshop. Guess it's a bug in the software. Hope a fixed version be out soon.

I have the exact same problem with 6.01r28 PS plugin. I use SS4000+, PS 7.01, WinXP Pro with 2GB RAM, scanning in Normal mode. Never had this problem with previous releases.

I have installed version 5.5.2r20 and tested it on my SS4000+. Unfortunately it does not solve the focussing problem. The outcome is still either hit or miss. After doing an extensive search on the web, I find some other references to this problem. There is a thread on yahoo scanner group (group nam...

I just began to use this new SS4000 plus. While the result is beautiful and there seems to be no compatibility issue (I'm using Win 2k/PS 7/SF AI 5.5 and firewire interface), sometimes there's this weird focusing problem with slide films. Well, it actually happens quite frequently. The slides are sh...
