I doubt that the gamma gradation curve for positive type images is valid for negatives. Negatives are based on NegaFix and each film has it's own unique contrast and colour response.

The issue now seems to be resolved and updates are again available to me. It looks like there may have been a server glitch.

Web and Manual Updates

Your servers are currently reporting that ALL of my serial numbers are not valid. This is for SilverFast Ai, HDR and DCPro. In other words I can't update ANY of my LaserSoft software to current versions.

You don't get Ai with DCPro. SilverFast Ai is for scanners and there are MANY different scanners supported.

However, SilverFast DCPro has all the features of SilverFast HDR.

Re: Calibrating for different film types

Questions relating to calibration. I have both Ektachrome and Kodachrome reference targets. Most of the slides I am scanning are Kodachrome but there are some Ektachrome mixed in. 1. Will a single calibration, Kodachrome or Ektachrome, give acceptable results for both film types? Kodachrome and Vel...

Andreas, Dear Ian, I'd happily post an excuse for this message which I wrote in quite a frustration (because of the new version). The first version of DCPro I tried was beginning of September. I wrote a message about problems with the Fuji S2 Profiles without much response from Lasersoft. Months (!!...

Olaf, You can certainly use profiles based upon the HTC targets. However, you can't create the profile using the SilverFast IT8 calibration module. If you really want to create profiles based upon the HTC target you'll need to obtain third party software that supports it (e.g. GretagMacbeth iMatch 2...

We discovered some bugs in the Mac 610r5 version after releasing the version. Expect a revised version shortly.

Ralf,

Thanks for the update

I can now verify that the latest version of DCPro (610r5) does NOT rotate Canon EOS 10D RAW image format files. These RAW image files do appear in the Overview Window when a folder containing them is selected in the Navigator (which is more than I can say for Photoshop 7.0 where the RAW image files...

I just downloaded and installed the 610r5 version of Silverfast DC Pro for Windows, and it works beautifully. I notice that it even puts the file names in red of those images that have been automatically rotated in the Overview Window. These are 3-4 MB images and when I click on full screen preview...

Dear Tom. Version 610t5 was frozen two days ago and testing began immediately. The auto rotation feature was already tested positiv. I would expect a release version of 610r5 coming up in the middle of next week. Eric. I downloaded the release version of r05 for mac OSX last night. On the version I...

Re: IT-8 Kalibration missing Entry in CMS Dropdown Box

I tried to follow the steps in the new SilverFast Offical Guide (Sybex) To Calibrate my scanner (page 44) Taz, Tally suggests, to choose "Calibration" in the CMS-Options for Scanner->Internal. This option is also mentioned in the user manual. I tried this with SilverFast Ai 6.10r4 with my Nikon Coo...

Silverfast will require an installer update, so the Silverfast installer will find Photoshop CS on your computer. This update has already been done, so starting with 6.1.0r5, Silverfast will install and work with Photoshop CS with no problem. Photoshop CS also retains the ability to use use plug-in...
