Some questions about SilverFast DCPro-VLT: Is there also an upgrade possibility from SF AI 6? Is the EOS 1D supported? Are levels and curves etc. applied during raw - tiff conversion or is it only postprocessing? Will there be a demo of SilverFast DCPro-VLT? What will the price be? Thanks in advance...

Forgot to ask you,how you place the 24/36mm slide into your scanner.Upright or oblong format (Hope those are the right words;I`m german)? All my time measurements referred to oblong format.

Thanks for the info,Drol. This stuff doesn`t mean anything to me.I can`t find the log file on my computer anymore, but I found the one for my Microtek-scanner,which also shows the firmware version.Anyway...your scan takes even longer than mine (96sec).So you should get the optimum out of your Powerlo...

Hi Drol, I can`t tell you exactely, but there was a small program, that came with the Magicscan software.Since I don`t have it installed right now,I`m not sure about how it`s called. There also should be a Silverfast log.file in your Photoshop Import-export folder, which should give you the firmware ve...

That would be great news,Drol. I have exactely the same time.Could you do me a favour and take the time of the actual scanning process only?Just wait until focussing and calibration is over and the flatbed starts to move steadily. You can of course turn AF off. Please make sure to have calibration tur...

Just did a test: A 24/36 mm slide scan takes exactely 96 sec. (after calibration and focussing are complete). The progress bar starts to move a few seconds after the actual scanning has started,btw.. I`m using WinXP,SF 5.5.0r06,firmware2.0. Not only newer SF versions are faster (at least EVERY versio...

Hi Drol, I know, this is another story, but did you realize, that you will never get the best quality out of your Powerlook 3000,if you use any version, that is newer than 5.5.0r06?All newer versions are forcing the PL3000 to scan faster.A while ago,I did some comparison scans.Up to 5.5.0r06,it took exa...

Theo, open the Colormanagement dialog in PS,go to grayscale, choose for example gray gamma 2.2 and in THE SAME pulldown menue, where you just chose graygamma 2,2,you can save this as an ICC profile! Then go to the colormanagement in Silverfast and just load it there. It will show up then in the grayscal...
