Re: Post-Editing Options for HDR Output
Dear Mediko, a scanner ICC profile (created with SilverFast or other software) should be usable with image data of 16bits depth as well as 8bits depth. But when working with 8bits (i.e. 24bits RGB) image data, you would not want them to be at gamma=1, but at gamma=2.2 (or similar, in synchrony with ...

Re: Finding Firmware Number For Artixscan M1 Pro
Dear Don, the firmware nuber should be listed in SilverFast's SFLogfile togther with the inquiry received data from the scanner. As to the focus issue, the exact focus plane may differ slightly from scan to scan, but I am not aware of drastic differences from scan to scan. Possibly your original is ...

Re: Noise in 48 bit scans
Dear Dave, when your are scanning a negative as a positive and then invert it manually (after orange mask elimination), you are missing the NegaFix profile's curves that perform the mid tone correction, and you are missing NegaFix's color balancing. Try to edit a NegaFix profile to a custom one by c...

Re: Allow multisampling with ME
Dear Frank,
I understood that, but we simply have not implemented this feature into SilverFast.
There is currently no schedule for this, but I have recorded your interest in this.
Best regards
Martin

Re: Allow multisampling with ME
Dear degrub, both methods (MultiSampling and MultiExposure) increase the signal to noise ratio (i.e. reduce the noise). Theoretically, MultiSampling reduces noise by a factor of 1/squareroot(n) where n is the number of scans combined. To achieve a reduction to 1/4th you need to use 16 (!) passes, ro...

Dear TwoPynts, are you sure that your current lamp is okay? Maybe check it again? For testing purposes, please switch off color management in the Option's CMS panel, and set the histogram and gradation settings to default (i.e. click the "Reset" buttons there). Then no clipping should occu...

Re: ArtixScan 1800f color issue
Dear TwoPynts,
as you use SilverFast version 6.1.0r5 it seems to me that you have used the scanner already a long time with SilverFast.
Is your observation about image quality new (i.e. has something changed in this respect) or is it like at the beginning?
Best regards
Martin

Re: How do you set SF AI to scan in SuperFine mode w/LS9000
Dear hassiman,
as Nils stated: the Superfine mode is always active in our SilverFast(NikonSF) implementation for the LS8000 and LS9000 on Mac platform.
When using SilverFast(NikonM) on the Windows platform it may be activated in the Option's "Special" panel.
Best regards
Martin

Re: 120TF Banding Issue
Dear Steve, unfortunately I could not reproduce this behaviour with our sample scanner, but, as you observed it with several softwares including SilverFast and ScanWizardPro, I conclude that the scanner firmware produces the problem when the scanner is in start/stop mode as you described. Only thing...
