Re: SilverFast 8 Batch Scan/ ADF Scan

I'd like to add my vote for batch scanning, definitely including the file naming/numbering mechanisms from 6.x. In particular, I need a) To be able to specify which slides I want to scan; with a Reflecta DigitDia with a 100-slide magazine "scan all" is simply not an option; I also do not h...

Re: Post scan multi-processing

Yes, I noticed when I recently upgraded to a multi-core computer. Is this a recent change? iSRD now is pleasantly fast (I'm scanning slides at 3600dpi, so 15megapix/image), and it also seems that the algorithm has been improved to avoid the rare cases when it "went bananas" and made ugly, ...

Rotation -> iSRD -> cropping issue still there

Hello Heidorn, I just tried using the latest (r4) release, and the issue is still there. My parameters: Frames found using Auto frame, that were slightly rotated (correct, my scanner feeds a little bit skewed). Frames then Saved in both Landscape and Portrait mode, and these saved ones were the curr...

Auto frame inset - not active in Batch mode?

Hello, I have tried the Auto Frame function in 6.5, and it generally works quite well. However, I usually get a bit of the black frame of the slide (Reflecta DigitDia 4000), but then I discovered the Auto Frame Inset parameter. This gave me smaller frames and the black border was gone. So far so goo...

Still there in 6.5.5r4

Hi, I have a Reflecta DigitDia 4000, and with 6.5.5r3 I experienced the exact same problem. Going back to 6.5.1r1a seemed to "fix" it, though I have not tested whether that is because, for instance, the fine rotation feature is missing or what. The really interesting part was that even wit...

Update to suggestion

Hello again, I saw that I should have been more careful with my phrasing. But I'm sure you get the point - alternately scanning to and post-processing from two buffers, so that you can scan to one and post-process the other and vice versa. It's a sort of poor-man's multitasking, but in my opinion it...

Possible simplified multi-processing

I have a suggestion for an interim multi-processing that might be possible to implement. I assume that when you are scanning, you receive the data from the scanner and write it to a temporary file or memory buffer; then, you do the post-processing from that file/buffer. What I would suggest is that ...

I'm using AI Studio, latest build (6.4.xxx). The auto/manual focus information is quoted in advertising; however, the Reflecta web pages (and the Reflecta documentation, which is very sparse) do not mention it. For me, the point is that narrow (CS type) and wide (classic GEPE glass frame) slides may...

Reflecta DigitDia 4000 focus functions?

Hello, I have a DigitDia 4000 which works quite well with Silverfast. However, the scanner is supposed to have both auto and manual focus, but I have not found any documentation from Reflecta or anywhere else that suggests how focus can be adjusted. I have seen in the Silverfast manual that SF has f...
