Dear Nitro, thanks for your interest in SilverFast and for your proposal. As I already wrote it in another posting concerning the "soft banding" problem, we will investigate this issue again. I just have a few complementary questions: do you observe that the sharpness gets increased only with the fo...

Hello, I suggest that you contact our support team http://www.silverfast.com/problemreport/en.html You could mention in your message, if you have these stripes when the scan is performed (at the beginning of the calibration) or when the icc profile is applied (at the end of the calibration). Dear Friedrich, there is no need to set anything in the "Options / CMS" tab when performing the calibration. The IT8 calibration uses raw scanned data. The only thing which affects the icc profile generated at the end of the calibration is the gamma value set in the "Options / General". Ian Lyons' t...

The auto-exposure button enables to perform an automatic measurement of the optimal exposure time. This feature is hardware based and interacts with the scanner. It does not have anything to do with the "brightness" or "exposure" sliders which are "software based". Moreover, only some scanners with ...

Dear Mick, the workflow of the IT8 calibration was changed a long time ago. The user was able to export an icc profile by clicking on the "Export ICC" button (it was optional). Now, one has to save the icc profile for the input calibration. It is not an option anymore, that's why the "Export ICC" bu...

Dear Peter, At first, you could download the latest version from our website (use the auto-update from SilverFast). If you have an Epson-SE version with color management, switch off the CMS settings in the "Options / CMS" tab for test purposes. If nothing helps, contact our support team at: http://w...

Dear Nick, it seems that your problem is related to the removal of the orange mask. In order to visualize the positive image of the negative, SilverFast automatically removes the orange mask based on the color information in the selected frame. However, you can manually set the thresholds applied to...
