Dear avampato. It?s not possible to open Ai without a scanner, but as RAG mentions, this is possible for file based versions of SilverFast like DCPro or HDR. However, please note that the two different plugins do not share the same setting files. This means, if you change settings in DCPro/HDR you d...

Dear Heinz. It?s no problem to install both versions of SilverFast, since they are made for different scanners. However, there might be a recognition problem, when both scanners are switched on at the same time. To avoid this problem you should switch off the scanner that you do not need. Best regar...

Dear Leo.

You are using SilverFast in demo mode.
On startup you should see a dialog, where you can enter your name and serial number.

Dear Heinz.

Did you scroll down the license text?
The Accept button should get enabled, when the scroll bar once reached its bottom most position.

Dear Mark. You are right. If you use SF Ai to produce 48-bit HDR files, you can easily use the SF Launcher instead of PhotoShop. No changes are made to the image (beside a possible gamma) and therefore there is no need for working WYSIWYG here. Using a WYSIWYG display mode in HDR is only possible if...

Dear aneta. I guess you already have serialized your SE version. In this case, please open the info dialog by pressing the "i" icon on the left side of the preview. There click "credits" and then "upgrade". You should now be in the serialize dialog and should see your SE-serial number. Enter your SE...

Dear Beat. Thank you very much for your proposal. The problem might be that the edges of the film holder are mostly unsharp, which makes it difficult to estimate the real position of the image. Maybe a constant inset value would be enough. Anyway we will have a look. Best regards Eric Flyvbjerg

Dear Otto.

You might want to switch the HiRepp function off. To do so, please open the "Options" dialog and select the "Spezial" Panel. There you will find the HiRePP checkbox.

Dear Otto. What do you mean by 2 sides? Please note that SilverFast writes HiRepp information into Tiff files if the file size is larger than a certain threshold. This HiRepp information can be treated as a second image inside the tiff file by some application and its size could result in the 8 MB y...
