How to select/edit Preview-Images?

Hi! Just a simple Question: How to select the individual Frames on a Neg-STrip? When I insert the strip and click on the "Overview of all images"-Button, Silverfast gives me small thumbnails of my Images. When I want to scan/edit, say, Frame 2 and 4, everytime I go back and forth between t...

Buying HDR upgrade: Will it work with Elite 5400?

Hi! I currently own Silverfast AI that came with the Microtek 120tf scanner. I recently purchased a Minolta Elite 5400 and use it with its own Scan Utility-Software. But now I want to purchase Silverfast HDR, in order to process the Elite's Raw-Scans with it. My question: Can I buy the cheaper "upgr...

There has been a mistake in my 1st post. Of course I want to process the Raw-Files (the 16 bit linear-scans) of my 5400, not my 120tf.

120tf - good enough for 35mm? Or better get Minolta 5400?

Hi! I use the Microtek Artixscan 120tf as a filmscanner. While it does a good job with my MF-negs, I'm not sure about its 35mm-performance, since the color-scans often come out very grainy. Do you think a dedicated 35mm scanner as the Minolta 5400 will do a better job in terms of sharpness and overa...

Soft Slidescans on 120tf: Where to select Focus-Point??

Hi! I recently contacted the Microtek-support about the soft-slide issue of the 120tf: When you scan 35mm-Slides without Slide-Frames, they'll get soft since the unmounted slide is beyond the scanners DOF-area. The Support said that you can manually select the focussing-point in Silverfast. Is that ...

Multi-Sampling on 120tf ...what's the deal?

Hi! I've read that the latest AI Studio-version supports Multi-Sampling. But my 120tf does that already with earlier, Non-AI-Studio versions. What's the advantage of the upgrade? I always avoided using Multisampling, since it gives me blurred scans (because of Misalignment). Did you resolve this pro...

I haven't the scanner near me right now, so I can't check all your questions at the moment. All I can say is that I scan my B&W-Negs as Positives - with the AF turned off. But I don't know if turning off the AF will affect the Banding-problem. I'll check that later!

Best wishes,

Microtek 120tf / Polaroid Sprintscan 120 Wishes!

The new silverfast-version should eliminate the soft-banding-problem of the SS120/120tf. It'll also be great if you add an option that adjusts the autofocus when scanning with a glassholder (the focus is always a bit off when using the holder - non-autofocus-scans are sharper!)

Silverfast HDR and AI: Differences?

Silly question: What is the difference between Silverfast HDR and AI? I've got the Microtek 120tf with Silverfast AI. Since it already supports 48bit HDR-files - what's the use of Silverfast HDR?

Microtek 120tf: Interesting discovery...!

Hi! While doing some researching about the "Softbanding-Problem" on the Microtek 120tf and the Polaroid Sprintscan 120, I discovered that when turning off the "Autofocos"-Feature and using the MF-Glassholder, Negatives came out considerably SHARPER than those with the feature turned on. Give it a tr...
