LaserSoft Imaging

I removed (uninstalled) both, Plustek scanner and Silverfast. Then did a chkdsk /F and re-installed both - same as I had before - now it works. I don't know why but that's ok with me.

Thanks for the response: That is exactly what happened, although I don't understand the reasoning behind it. Don't you have increase and/or decrease exposures to get an HDR results from negatives or other scanned sources?

I am unable to use the picture settings - Midtone/Contrast/Saturation. The sliders are disabled and do not respond in any way. Why? I am scanning negatives.
