Re: Dark Slides

DD-747 near Pescadores Islands 1953.jpg Silly question: How many of you with dark slide problems are powering your PlusTek scanner with 110v power source, and how many with 220v? While it may not make a difference, the darkness I get reminds me of a 220 light appliance plugged into a 110 outlet. At...

Re: HDR Studio 8.0.1r6

Does Silverfast have an interest in reviewing the technical crash data that I've logged while using HDR Studio 8.0.1 r6? This forum does not allow me to upload a text file (tried .rtf and .pdf) If so, what is the recommend method of transmitting it to you?

Thanks

Re: HDR Studio 8.0.1r6

The Makernote is tag 0x927c in the Exif IFD. According to the Exif 2.2 standard, the makernote is "a tag for manufacturers of Exif writers to record any desired information. The contents are up to the manufacturer, but this tag should not be used for any other than its intended purpose." F...

Re: HDR Studio 8.0.1r6

That's understandable, thanks. Different problem: any TIFF I generate with Silverfast HDR 8 Studio Beta from a Silverfast 8 Ai RAW TIFF source has corrupt Marker notes (see attached screen shot), preventing me from geo-tagging it. I thought this was a problem with the GraphicConverter program I use ...

HDR Studio 8.0.1r6

What are the changes between r5 and r6? I've not seen improvement in the areas of criticism I've had so far in using r5: occasional crashes (running OS 10.6.8, iCore 5 27: iMac, 4MB RAM), occasionally unresponsive Work Flow Pilot button, inability to remember the settings of where to save files I'm ...

Re: Kodachrome targets

Thank you! That is very helpful. I'm attaching a scan of one of the "Rainbo Color" slides--which on the reverse says "Patented" at the top and "Made in U.S.A." on the bottom. The slide is circa 1955. I got the best result by scanning with Silverfast Ai 8 with the "...

Re: Kodachrome targets

Hi, Based on the discussion in this forum, can you validate if the following is the case: For general calibration of my PlusTek 7600i scanner, the Silverfast 35mm IT8 calibration target currently in my possession is suitable. However, before scanning a batch of Kodachrome slides, I will get a better...

Re: iSRD and other suggestions

I'm having a problem where applying iSRD in post-processing introduces significant artifacts, black bars at 45 degree angles that completely mar the image, and no scratches are removed. I only have this problem when scanning in 1940s era BW negatives (1 3/4 inch square) of unknown manufacture. I'm a...
