Thanks for adding your experience to this forum. It's good to know it's not just me and/or the Mac platform! I had two faults on my 1800f when it arrived from the factory - the on off switch didn't work properly either. The only other issue I have with transparency scanning is that sometimes when I ...

ArtixScan 1800f and Panther

Any reports on the ArtixScan 1800f and Panther? I notice it's not on the list of tested scanners - don't want to upgrade until I'm sure I can scan

Keil Thanks for your speedy response. Yes I have calibrated for both Reflective and Transmissive. I'm using SF 6.1.0r5 which I think is the latest. I'm using Adobe RGB 1998 as the RGB profile, mostly scan as CMYK plug n Play, use colorsync + automatic setting to co-ordinate with Photoshop, embed Eur...

Positive transparencies and calibration

I'm having problems getting good results scanning positive transparencies on my ArtixScan 1800f, operating under Mac OSX 10.2.6. I've calibrated the scanner using the Kodak Q60 targets supplied - although there are no curve files for these targets installed, I downloaded the files from the Kodak sit...

I think I have found a solution for the issue above (if not a reason). If I set the preview resolution to x2 or higher the preview executes correctly. It is when the preview is set to x1 that I get the distorted preview. Also I've discovered it only happens when I use the Photoshop plug-in module.Wh...

problems with transparency scanning

I have been having consistent problems scanning from positive transparencies from my Mikrotek 1800f. I'm using Jaguar 10.2.6 on the Mac. Frequently, though not consistently, prescans start and then the scanner makes a terrible noise and the image in the preview window becomes a series of distorted c...

Transparency and colour management

I can't scan transparencies on my Artixscan 1800f when the CMS Input>internal value is set to colorsync - The prescan and final scan either shrinks the first row of transparencies in the holder, or the first row distorts altogether and I get a long coloured blur the length of the scan. The scanner a...

Englehart Thanks for your reply. I went into system 9 last night and installed Scan wizard and the problem persists - even tried a different firewire cable, so short of trying it attached to a different computer it does look increasingly like it's the scanner. Just can't believe 2 faults in a brand ...

Blue streaks

I've just purchased an Artixscan1800f - apart from the faulty switch - they are sending a replacement scanner - the scanner has sudenly developed blue streaks down one side of the scan preview window scanning in Transparency mode. Final scans also show the streak. I've tried different settings in Si...
