Memory mangement on the MAC.

How does Silverfast manage memory on the MAC 9.2? I am using it through PS 7. Can I assign more or less ram to Silverfast or does it let Photoshop control memory?

This is a message I just started to get after updating to Vr 6 from Vr 5 on a Epson 1640XL, MAC OS9.2. I never had this message before that. I thought it might be related to the update.

How do I trun it off? Sometimes I get a message saying if I want to speed things up I should turn it off.

What is a scanner monitor and can I turn it off? I am using Version 6 on a MAC with OS 9.2. Version 6 seems alot slower overall than 5.

I am using a Epson 1640XL on the Mac 9.1. I have the latest version of Silverfast (6). My marquee doesn't always stay in the same place. Some times it moves it's position from prescan to scan or if I have to scan the image for some reason twice the marquee will have moved to the left to right. It on...

I have noticed the same thing with the Epson scanner, not as sharp as I hoped. The USM goes along way in helping.

That looks like the same one but can SilverFast see the positions of the 35mm frames? I have upgraded the firm ware from Polaroid for their scanner do I have to upgrade silverfast software to scan 35mm?

Still having the same problem this time with Kodak Potra B+W film. I tried the curves but I am not having much luck. Contrast is the probem,setting the white point and black point does not help. Which film channel should I be using for B+W film?

I never scan B+W negs. The two times I have I have not been successful. On these current 35MM negatives I find the contrast very high ,poor shadow detail and washed out highlights. Are you using the sharpening filter? If so turn it off and sharpen in Photoshop,I had the same problem and this worked for me.
